Tranche-sur-Mer
Home for tonight is Hotel d’Atlantique in Tranche-sur-Mer. I have a privileged view, with balcony, above the restaurant.
A brief post today. Not to put too fine a point on it- I’m knackered! The Garmin disgraced itself this morning by freezing and my map reading skills were suspect. What should have been a 50 kms ride came in at about 75 kms. I got hopelessly lost twice around Jard-sur-Mer despite the advice I received from Jeff and Ally. They sent me a GPS route to upload to the Garmin because a bridge was down but, as already explained, the Garmin was in the merde!
As an aside, here is a photo of the three of us the other day having a warming coffee on a rainy ride:
The route today was:
- rainy
- hilly thorough the forest part of the trail after Jard
- long – did I mention that? On the upside, I have now covered 625 kms and have therefore done over half of the official distance of the Velodyssey. After this update I will pop downstairs for a celebratory beer before bed.
Along the way I was joined by one or two interesting companions
and, as every day on the trip, saw some lovely countryside
and finally, a little piece of home from a front garden in Tranche
Was that a little green gremlin in your garmin? love Gilly
