A rest day today.

A fine breakfast and an interesting conversation with the landlord,  Cliff. It turns out he originally comes from Fontwell but long before the bypass!

True to his word, he sorted out my washing while I wandered around the village. 5 minutes later and, as expected, the rain arrived and a cold wind kept me in until late in the afternoon when, over a beer and a chatI got the bike from the doghouse and gave it a clean and some oil.

A rush of excitement later in the day as a famous walker is staying here on a séjour randonnée – a hiking trip. The TV and press arrived but, having caught a glimpse, all I can say us that he was no Julia Bradbury!

Off to Mur de Bretagne tomorrow in what promises to be better weather.
